A New Spawn Era

I don’t post much anymore, mostly because Spawn isn’t even really a thought in my mind and DH and I are just existing as roommates.  His choice, he knows at any point he can come talk to me, and I will be there to listen, but instead he chooses avoidance.
As for Spawn, I was told she had another child and finally married the baby daddy, good for her, I guess.  She’s also very ummm politically charged I guess could be one way of saying it, so I guess she leans a certain way and her whole lifestyle revolves around that.
Interestingly enough last time DH spoke with her she talked about setting up her own business, basically scamming people for solar power cleaning and maintenance.  Now I say scam because to me it’s a scam, but I digress.  Turns out she and baby daddy did just that, set up a scammy solar panel cleaning and “maintenance” LLC.  I was sent her bio on their website, and it claims she is an expert in all things solar and has been working in this field for the past 12 years.  Wow so she started this illustrious career when she was the ripe old age of 16….funny she was still living with us when she was 16 and didn’t even have a license let alone any job.  Her bio reads as if she went to college and has a degree in electronic and mechanical engineering, which is weird because last DH was told by her, is that she might go back to college at some point, but I know getting a full degree takes 4 years and this is the same person who was pity passed out of high school and basically  made her money doing OF.    The rates they are offering are 365.00 for one year or maintenance, which includes one cleaning, 950.00 for one year of maintenance and 2 cleanings, or 2000.00 for the year with four cleanings.  I mean I don’t know about any of you, but I think I’m gonna pass on this one, but it will be interesting to see when they start getting sued in small claims court.

Re: A New Spawn Era

Well, I suppose anyone can clean solar panels - we had ours cleaned in March of this year by our regular window cleaners, and it cost us £18 - ie £1 per panel - so SD is hardly going to make her fortune doing that! And the rates she is charging she will get zero takers.   For maintenance - they don't actually need any unless there is a fault - and I doubt SD would have a snowball in hell's chance of diagnosing a fault in a solar panel, let alone rectifying it!

Re: A New Spawn Era

I always SMH at people who are more invested in setting up these low money scams than doing actual work. Kes is correct that they won't get any takers for those rates.

Re: A New Spawn Era

Plus solar panels only need one annual clean - enough to stop lichen forming on them and making them ineffective. Certainly not four!!!!

Re: A New Spawn Era

I agree with both of you, I don't think she will generate much business here in town, but they have included surrounding areas, so maybe there.  Who knows it was just funny to see Spawn is taking in Meth Mouths scammy footsteps.

Re: A New Spawn Era

Lock down your credit/finances ASAP! I think adultskid here pulled ye olde use someone else’s address to get frivolous loans maneuver just like Biohag. I intercepted a suspicious envelope some time ago and adultskid was in hot water for non payment of some line of credit so I wrote “not at this address return to sender” and snail mailed it back.

If you don’t already set up credit alerts in case someone tries to use your info or ?. If Spawn is a meth scammer like its Mommy your blood is in the water and you’re the chum.

Re: A New Spawn Era

I know she doesn't have any degrees, which is why reading her bio is laughable yet scary.  On top ofher timeline is a joke.
I figure her target audience is going to be the elderly, since that's who Meth Mouth likes to scam.
I figure at some point they will end up in trouble legally and that will be on them.

Re: A New Spawn Era

The company is an LLC, but does it need to also have a contractor license? I just had my home, fence, and patio power washed. The company had a contractor license. I would think solar panel cleaning here would need a similar license.
The licensing process here is fairly easy. The fines for not having one are not small.

Re: A New Spawn Era

notarelative, I don't know anything about LLCs, I was just sent the website and her bio, I know she had talked to DH about setting up a business like this a few years ago because she was looking for a get rich quick scheme.  Meth Mouth was always about MLM's or finding quick ways to make cash.  So it's not surprising that Spawn follows this formula.
