Baby DD3 arrived on Friday last week. I had to be induced earlier than anticipated due to low amniotic fluid. Luckily, the induction and delivery process was so smooth with minimal pain and no complications, which I am forever grateful for. We discharged home on Saturday and have been adapting to this phase of life ever since. DH and I make a great team, tag-teaming and coordinating all daily responsibilities and sleep, making this phase easier. We work really well together.

DH called SS on Friday afternoon to let him know that DD arrived. We couldn't FaceTime him since we left our Apple device at home, so DH sent him a few photos. SS was surprisingly so excited and begged us to FaceTime him on Saturday night after discharge instead of Sunday (our typical call night) so he didn't have to wait to virtually meet her. He said he is so excited to come home for Christmas and see everyone. DD3 is adjusting as well as can be expected. We have noticed some behavioral regression and jealousy, which we knew to expect.

BM has ramped up communication over the last week. I assume she knew I was close to delivery/due date (SS likely told her). She emailed DH 6 times last week over frivolous stuff, despite weeks to months of silence. She also mailed DH a medical reimbursement request for an ER visit related to SS' wrist injury. There was never a mention of an ER visit (just a doctor visit), no courtesy warning that a hefty bill was coming, nothing. So of course, we were surprised to receive a reimbursement request in the mail (the day I discharged home) for a $500 bill, especially after BM told DH she was pursuing a CS increase two weeks ago. DH didn't engage in BM's antics or wants for attention. He either responded "Thank you for the update," "Received," or didn't respond. DH also called the hospital, verified the charges related to SS' ER visit, and mailed a check for his court ordered medical reimbursement portion, no further engagement required. I'm sure BM is frustrated at DH's lack of engagement, hence the ramped up communication, and I'm sure it bothers her that we are in baby bliss, DH is "Dading" to DDs really well, which she acts like DH could never do for SS, and SS is really excited about his new sister, and nobody is paying attention to BM.
