Facebook experts, please help

A while back, something weird happened to me on Facebook. And I'd like to understand and, if possible,  avoid any future occurrences.

So, here's what happened- I  was messaging a hotel who couldn't accept us. I was getting ready to look elsewhere when one of my relatives butted in and suggested an alternative solution. This relative wasn't following me but, just to be sure, I eliminated all of my followers and made it impossible for anyone to follow me.  So, as she was apparently keeping an eye on me without actually following me, I  was wondering how she did it. Can anyone shine a little light on this?

I'm getting sick of having to worry about who is reading my posts without knowing... How can I stop people tracking me?

You can look up a particular person's posts I think - I agree Fb's privacy settings are pants.  Even if someone isn't following you - they can still snoop on your account, and the only way to stop this is to block them.  I still have a "nominal" Fb account but with no friends (apart from DH) and I only use it for looking at photos of landscapes/animals etc My daughters don't like Fb so I have no reason to be there to stay abreast of their lives.

Re: Facebook experts, please help

Thanks, Kes. A second account is a great idea. I hesitate to block her because things with her are tenuous at the moment.  A while back I got the impression I was being a bit of a pest so I stepped back, I sort of disengaged. She seems to have taken it as me burning bridges (not my intention) so I  really aren't block her. A second account would be the perfect solution.

Thanks again. 🙂

Re: Facebook experts, please help

Same here. I use FB to keep up with friends and family from afar. I have fewer than 40 facebook "friends" but I consider them all to be real friends/family. Having said that, I am very uncomfortable with one of them stalking me and that's what I'd like to avoid.
