Preheat oven to 375°. Mix dry ingredients together. Mix in beer. Pour into greased loaf pan (make sure bottom is well-greased!). Smooth out any big peaks. Pour butter over the top. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool for 15+ minutes before slicing.
NOTES:Sifting the flour is crucial! You don't want a brick.If you prefer a softer crust, mix the melted butter into the batter.Best beers to use for flavor: lager, porter, stout, brown ale.

Beer Bread
- 3 cups flour, sifted
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1-12 oz beer, room temp*
- 1/4 cup butter, melted

I can vouch for the beer bread, and I’m a pretty good baker. Super easy, super tasty. Easy to add other ingredients. I’ve used walnuts, rosemary, whole grains, dried cranberries, probably other things I can’t remember.

I have to admit I have only added garlic and cheddar. DH doesn't like nuts, but is okay with herbs and fruit. I want to make a loaf with Fruli, which is a strawberry flavored beer.
