I thought I'd start a thread for this - what have you enjoyed lately on the large or small screen? I just watched "Frankenstein" on Netflix - an epic film with great performances and an amazing study of the nature of good and evil, compassion and cruelty.
I also enjoyed "I Swear" at the cinema - I don't know if this has been released in the USA, but it's a brilliant film and a true story about someone with Tourette Syndrome.

On TV right now I just watch "trash" tv, mostly like Housewives franchise and Sister Wives. I'm also really into Bob's Burgers, but life is rough right now and I need mindless distractions.
As for movies and friend and I went and saw Bugonia the other day and it was really good, nice little twist at the end.

We just watched the first season of Only Murders in the Building (Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez). We plan to order season 2 soon.

We are food nerds. Chefs Table was our absolute favorite. Also liked Stanley Tucci Searching for Italy and Eva Longoria Searching for Spain. Makes me long to travel (and eat good food!) Aside from those we love most Viking TV shows particularly Vikings Valhalla.
To summarize... Food and Viking shows, lol.

Reruns of the late 60s tv show "Family Affair" with Brian Keith, Sebastian Cabot, Kathy Garver, Johnnie Whittaker and Anissa Jones. On Amazon Prime.
Sad that Anissa died so young.

Also sad that her younger brother, Paul, died of an overdose several years later.

Went to see the film "Pillion" at the cinema, starring Alexander Skarsgard and Harry Melling - very good, emotionally authentic, well acted, about a BDSM relationship between them. DH and I went to a matinee performance and the cinema was empty - we sat in the back row, but then some pervert came in and sat beside me on the end seat! I moved and went far away from him. I'd recommend the film - it's already won a bunch of awards - but be prepared for graphic gay sex.

I didn’t watch very much this year, but I really enjoyed the movie “Sinners”. I think the horror elements were handled very well, and has a lot of other elements, and was skillfully put together.
Also the series “Bad Sisters” is a winner if you like drama , family intrigue and some murder plots thrown in as well!

Loooooove Bad Sisters. And not just for the awesome Irish accents.
Norsemen is badly underwatched. Hysterical.

If you like Norsemen (which we did, lol) then might I also suggest "1670". I believe it's on Netflix. It's a similar kind of idea... Old times with modern, silly humour. Set in the 1600s in Poland. We loved it. Season 2 just came out and I found it even funnier than the first season. We binged it.
We thought Norsemen was so funny we still laugh about some of the jokes from it.

Brilliant! We saw another show from Norsemen people called dumsdag? But try as I might I can’t get another show they made. A spoof of reality tv about a bunch of Santa clausactors. Did you know they fined each norsemen scene in Norwegian first then English?!
just watched a trailer. Can't wait till it's not 2am so I can watch it!

Cold January afternoon, and DH and I have been watching the feature film "Nuremberg" starring Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Rami Malek. About the Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals at the end of WW2. It has been much more engaging and watchable than I thought it was going to be.

Recently watched "I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not". I've always loved him on screen, he was a handsome chap in his younger years, but I was pretty dissapointed to learn while watching his documentary, that although he was a great actor, offscreen he was a total arse! 😔

One Day At A Time
Hazel
That Girl
